2 "going out" related questions

Sorry, but reading all these posts about going out with twins brought up a few more for me!

1. How long did you wait before taking the babies to places like church? A quick trip to the store?

2. How do you manage grocery shopping? Do you pull the cart, push the stroller? Somehow stick both infant carriers in the shopping cart?

I know this is a bit of a ways off for me, but thanks for the help!

I think we took the trips out around 8 weeks for the first time. I have taken all three once or twice shopping with me. I only buy what I know will fit under the stroller. But with twins you could put one in the shopping cart and carry the other in a pack or sling.

I was lucky enough to have healthy babies born at 37 weeks in the summer...so I took them out pretty early.  When they were between 2 and 3 weeks old my mom was staying with me and we would go out and run an errand or two every day.  We went to target, to a nursery to buy flowers, to lunch, etc.  They stayed happily sleeping in their carseats.  We first brought them to church when they were 4 weeks old.  Again they stayed in their carseats and sat right with us. 

 When I was pg I was sure I would grocery shop when my husband was home or do the sling/one in a shopping cart way.  But I go every week by myself and pull the cart/push the stroller.   It sounds and looks much harder than it is.  I always go in the early afternoon or morning when it isn't too busy.  The babies love looking around at everything and I love an excuse to get out of the house

 I get out all the time with the babies.  My husband and even when golfing last summer and all 4 of us rode in a cart together   Getting out and about with twins is totally doable!

My girls were born in April so but with there being 3 of them and us being exhausted, we didn't get out much to begin with except for walks.

With 3, I wasn't about to go shopping by myself with them but with 2 - you could put one car seat carrier in the shopping cart and put the other baby in a sling.

we went out pretty early...maybe two weeks old. they were full term, healthy and it was late spring. granted anyone that came to close got an earful from me!

i have been grocery shopping with them since two weeks old. with the sng i would push the cart and pull the sng by the carseat handle in the front. but once we got the BOB it was a breeze to shop with since it manuevers so well. now they are big enough to sit in the carts so shopping is even easier.

you can't be afraid to go out. just do it and keep doing it and before you know it you are a champ! just get really really good at avoiding eye contact!
