Work...

I work at a bakery where I do frequent lifting of things around 20-50 lbs.  I don't want to have to tell my boss yet because it's so early on, but I also don't know how I can get around doing these things since they're my responsibility.  This is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure what to do.  Advice?

    this.

    Or

Just suck it up and lift the boxes....your body should be use to some small boxes by now.

    or

Buy a hand truck so moving the boxes is easier and you can wait a few months before breaking the news.

I would tell....are you worried he will fire you? It does sound like you won't be able to handle your work duties now if that is a big part of your job.

  • My dr. said to not lift over 20 pounds. I don't lift too much at work, but occasionally it's needed. I haven't told anyone at work yet either. I use the old "I hurt my back and don't want to aggravate it....can you lift this for me?" line on my coworkers.  Hasn't failed yet!
  • Thanks.  I'm pretty sure that it's illegal to fire someone if they say they're pregnant.  I think I'll tell her tomorrow and see what we can work out.  Blech.  I haven't even told my family yet.
