Boobs reverting to normal size? Anyone?

I know this seems like a dumb and somewhat personal question, but that fact alone (and now that I have no symptoms) is causing major anxiety. ?Right after I got my positive test, my chest increased very noticeably for a week or so; now it has gone back to completely normal size, without tenderness, for the past week. ?And the cramps I was having disappeared. ?Now I have nothing at all.

Can anyone relate? If so, did everything turn out to be OK? I have never heard of breast size going back down after it had already gone back up, unless it was due to pregnancy loss. :( ?I have heard countless stories of every other symptom fluctuating, but that is the one symptom that no one ever says "goes away." ?I am terrified.

(Oh, and please forgive the overanalysis, but I'm really scared.)?

Re: Boobs reverting to normal size? Anyone?

  • I have pretty much lost my food aversions.  My boobs are less sore.  And I was never cursed with m/s.  This bothers me.  I know that symptoms do not mean the baby is healthy, but as I'm not showing yet, I have nothing to "prove" to myself that I'm pregnant.

  • My boobs do the same thing.  They swelled up one week and were sore then poof gone, and then a week or two later they swelled up again.  I think it goes with the hormone fluxes I am having.  Plus I didn't have M/S either but I had a Dr. appt last thursday and I am still good and KU'd.  Ur fine.  I wouldn't worry to much about it.
  • So you are saying they DID fluctuate in size, too? ?Wow. ?I haven't heard that before, but it's giving me hope. Thank you so much for responding!
  • My boob soreness has fluctuated and nipple size has too.  My soreness went away a few weeks ago and is now back and they feel fuller.  If you aren't having any other symptoms like cramping or bleeding, I would try not to worry (easier said than done!).
  • Mine have the same thing!! I have been worried sick since my first Dr's Appt is not until later this week.  My boobs have grown and then shrunk back with no soreness at least three times... I am still a little worried but I think that if I was going to M/C it would happen already-chalk this up to what people never tell you but should!!!
  • Soreness DEFINITELY came and went. And there are definitely times when they feel more swollen (both to the touch, and in terms of breast sensation). Give it a few days and see what happens.

  • Yep, mine too, friend!  Right now, DH would probably be a little disappointed that they don't look like they did when he left... but they ought to be REAL nice by the time he gets back... Good luck at your appointment!  Wednesday right?

  • Same thing happened to me, and I'm fine. I'm currently at 12 weeks. Around weeks 5-7, my boobs got much bigger, firmer, and were very sore. Then in week 8, they deflated back to normal size and the soreness went away. I'd pretty much convinced myself that something bad had happened since I didn't think boobs would deflate like that in a normal pregnancy. I couldn't get an earlier doctor's appointment, and I braced myself for the worst. Then at my 9-week appointment, everything was fine, heard the HB, etc. Since then, my boobs have gone up and down in size & soreness pretty regularly, but everything is still going ok with the pregnancy. Hope that gives you some comfort!
  • Oh yes, thanks for posting! I have been so anxious the last few days. Last week, I was ready to go bra shopping...now, not so much. I also used to have lighting bolts of pain in my boobs at night when I would get up to go to the bathroom. That went away too. I tried to sleep on my stomach last night to really test it, however, that still hurt. I'm just rationalizing my body is too busy growing an embryo right now to be bothered with sending out boob sensitivity...
