1st Trimester

LIZ!

I just about shiit myself when I read your reply.

The "big" u/s is a measurement test.  Everyone with decent prenatal care gets one....she does NOT "make something up" she does it because it's a test that you get to make sure things are kosher in the womb.  They measure tons of parts of the baby to make sure that things are going ok with the little one.  I'm all fired up now...that she said she would make something up.  Finding out the gender happens during this test, yes, but it is NOT the point of this test.  She doesn't have to make something up...and the fact that she DID tell you that makes me think that you should do TONS of research before going in there to make sure you're getting the most out of your care.  Holy Moly I almost passed out.

Re: LIZ!

  • yeah, i wondered about that. i sort of thought that there were more things going on during that u/s than just gender determination, especially because one of our friends just went too and that's where they measured baby's fingers/toes and everything else.

as a result of all of these posts, i am sending hubby to the tricare office in our clinic today since he has the day off and i don't, and if he doesn't get a clear enough answer from them, he's going to call tricare's main number. even stuff on the tricare website seems so ambiguous to me sometimes. we searched yesterday afternoon about what it covered and had a really hard time finding it.

     THANK YOU for your help!
