Were to start.......so scared

Well first I found out I was pregnant Feb. 20, 2009. Last Monday March 2, 2009 I started bleeding lightly. It was a brownish color. I went to the doctors then on Tuesday, she stated that things looked good and sent me for blood work and then set me up with a obgyn. I saw the obgyn on Thursday the 5th for the first time. He did an exam and said that things looked good even though there was some minor bleeding. I've been lightly bleeding since last Monday. The bleeding is worse in the morning and a few times was heavy and red colored.

 At my first appointment with the obgyn they said that I was 6 weeks and 2 days along. Well today I went for my first u/s and the woman doing the u/s stated that by what she could tell I am only about 5 weeks along.

I know that nothing is an exact science but with the whole bleeding thing going on I'm scared. This is my first time being pregnant. So the doctor sent me for more blood work today and I go back later this afternoon at 2pm to speak with the obgyn about whats going on.

My boyfriend went with me today and after the u/s was over we both looked at each other and said we were scared. He's going with me again this afternoon. I just hope that everything is ok with the baby.

I don't have any words of wisdom for you. I'm going through the same thing right now. I had a little bit of bright red blood on Thursday, then no bleeding at all on Friday. Saturday I started spotting brown blood, it increased on Sunday, and it now kind of steady. I go to the doctor today at 3:15. I guess we just have to trust that our bodies are going to do what they will. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

Best of luck to you both today. I hope that everything turns out fine. I am going through the whole spotting and bleeding thing as well. It started this weekend, but it is now brown and looks like it is decreasing. I go to the doctor tomorrow. It is so scary but I am trying not to stress out for the baby's sake (which DH tells me). I am sending you some prayers. Keep us posted.

Be sure to have your doctor check your progesterone levels - insist on it!  I experienced similar symptoms, spotting and bleeding that left me on bedrest.  Found out my progesterone levels were ridiculously low and got on progesterone ... haven't spotted since!

Caveat:  progesterone certainly hasn't been proven to reduce the incidence of miscarriage, but that's what it's indicated use is.  And both me and several of my girlfriends have had success!

definitely sorry to hear that you are going thru this... im sure everything will be ok just try to relax and take it easy ... even tho thats easier said then done. But no stress is the best!
