Were your kids gavaged through the nose or mouth?
Our hospital did it through the mouth (re-ran every feeding) because they claimed it helped with reflux issues and now that I think back, none of the kids that were with use in the NICU had reflux and I know that's pretty odd for preemies.
So mouth or nose and did/does your child have reflux?
Re: Random gavage question
They did both and he does have reflux.
That.
They did through the mouth until he was nippling some feeds, then they switched him to nose.

My guys had ng tubes for about the first 2 weeks (30 weekers). They started having massive vomiting fits so one of the neos changed their tubes to og tubes that were put in/removed for every feeding, hoping that no having an easy path out would help with the reflux.
Drake had some reflux after coming home, but he was never medicated for it. Leo had the og tube in and out for about 3 weeks longer than his brother, and he had HORRIBLE reflux his first year, and some mild oral aversions.
