Gums..

Since my BFP I have had problems with my gums bleeding. I know this is somewhat normal, but how do I get it to stop. I have one of those fancy electric toothbrushes and I use mouthwash. What do you recommend? I talked to a friend of mine and she said her dentist put some sort of coating on her teeth to help it through her pregnancy.

Re: Gums..

  • Yeah, I don't know what that's all about, but I've been having the same thing. I also use Listerine and anti-plaque rinse twice a day, but it's still pretty consistent. Let me know if you learn anything helpful!

  • changes in our hormones can make our gums bleed more...some ppl even have noticeable bleeding during "that time of the month" You just need to make sure u brush at least 2x's a day and floss.....when you floss make sure u make a "c" around ur tooth inorder to disturb the bacteria below the gumline and don't just pop it down there! :)  Hope that helps! that's what we tell our patients @ my dds office! Oh and of course listerine type products!
  • I never had even a hint of pink when I flossed and brushed, and I had a dentist appt right before getting pg and he said everything was great!  All the sudden at 8 week- blam!  Bloody floss!

It still happens every time- I called dentist and he said to just keep up the routine and that as long as there's no pain or color changes I'm fine.
