When they started checking you for progress, did they find that you dilated much earlier than with your first baby?  Just curious.

Yes.  I was only a fingertip dilated with MS for the longest time up until I was induced at 39 wks.  At my 32 wk. appt. during this pregnancy I was checked due to lots of preterm contractions and was already 2 cm. and 50% effaced.

To answer your question, yes.  At 34 weeks I started to efface by 36 I had dilated to 1 1/2 and I'm about to find out my progress for this week.  It seems early to me, more so than with a first baby.

Edited to add: I was also 100% effaced at my 36 week appt.

I dilated faster first time. I also was in labor by now last time.

Unfortunately I was dilated 3 cm and 80% effaced at my 35 week appt. with my first, delivered him at 36 weeks exactly. This time I JUST got to 3cm dilated and fully effaced at 38 weeks 2 days.... I AM MISERABLE. Hope everyone else's second is quicker!!!
