Apparently while I was using the rest room during birth class my husband said they had mentioned that you can't wear contact lenses during birth. Is this something that you ladies have heard as well? And do you know why? TIA!
It's in case you need emergency surgery. We had it written into my birth plan that I get to wear them as long as possible, but it wasn't an issue. I slept so much after my epidural that my lenses got all dried and uncomfortable anyway, so I ended up wearing my glasses by choice for the last half of my L&D. No big deal.
Re: contact lenses
Yes I was also told this with my first. I assume it is in case of an emergancy and you need to go to the OR. Which was my case anyways.
i was told you can wear them, unless you are getting a c section since you arent supposed to wear them during any type of surgery
....the dr's at my hospital said its fine if i want to keep them in with a vaginal birth

When I had DS I wore them and I will be wearing them again this time around.
Imagine screaming in pain, sweating, wet cloths on your face with glasses? Umm no.
