I stay away from spicy food, onions, and tomatoes. I take 2 Zantac 150's and Tums Smoothies in between if I need to. Drinking milk helps.
I also try to eat dinner as early as I can otherwise I choke on it in the middle of the night. Chocolate is another one that hurts, but I can't stay away from it completely so I just avoid it at night.
It's gotten tremendously better now that I'm off strict BR and not laying down all the time. Propping myself up or being in a sitting position has done wonders! HTH.
The one and only thing that relieves my reflux when I get it is vanilla ice cream...i've tried tums/rolaids, milk, everything and ice cream is the only thing....gives me an excuse to enjoy ice cream though!

I literally was miserable until they put me on Nexium daily. I was taking Tums and Zantac (apart), modified my diet, ate small meals, etc. Now I can eat anything and feel great!
Tums smoothies until about two weeks ago (they stopped working) - my dr prescribed me prevacid 30mg and I havent had any reflux since then. It's been so awesome!
