Thank you card for work shower

At my work shower yesterday, I received gifts from various coworkers, and then, a very large gift from a group of coworkers. I plan to write thank you cards to those that gave individual gifts, but I am not sure how I should do the card/cards for the group gift.  The people that contributed work in different offices around the agency(ie. CFO front office, CIO, finance).   Do you think it would be ok to send one card per office, thanking those that contributed? Sorry if what I just wrote is a little confusing. TIA.

Re: Thank you card for work shower

  • This is probably not the answer you were looking for but I would send an individual thank you to all that contributed.  Time consuming but it means a lot to people and is more personal than a group thank you.

  • I agree with PP, unless you're talking 50-60 people going in on the group gift
  • Hmmm..in that case..how do you phrase something like that? I think about 20 or so people contributed and a coworker picked out clothes, toys, my car seat base, etc etc. Would you say, thank you for contributing to the very generous baby gift?
  • 1 card for the group, no matter where they are in the company...then send it to the "coordinator" and say something like, "please let everyone see this that contributed, thanks" And then ind. cards for the ind. presents.  You'd be there allll day writing thank you's and nobody expects that.

I had a work baby shower and received the same type of gifts.  A few from individuals and then a bunch of stuff from a large group of people.  This is what I ended up doing - I wrote out individual thank you notes.
