Bubblytoes

Did your pharmacy get stocked with Kapidex yet?  We launched it last week... just curious if you have it.

we have an evoucher program that i believe should be at your pharmacy - via Relay Health - like Crestor has - that knocks the copay down to $25... and also have an instand savings card patients can get online (or from their doc) at kapidex.com which will take off up to $55 of any OOP cost - making it free for those who qualify for both (essentially anyone under 65 and not on a govn't program).

kapidex is the R isomer of prevacid- and it has 2 releases... 25% of the meds at initial administration and the rest is released approx 5 hours laster - to give extended acid suppression. Similar safety profile to prevacid- but can be taken totally without regard to food (unlike traditional PPIs)

that's my detail for the night :)

Re: Bubblytoes

  • We haven't gotten it yet.

Gotta get that isomer out before the generic, right?  LOL

    you know it :)

but it's not just an isomer - it's got a DDR formulation (dual delayed release)... thank God- b/c i could not sell just an isomer drug - the docs would kick me out! :)

  • Loading the player...
  • The DDR is good.  I'm having a lot of people complaining about their PPI stopping working after about 12 hours.  They're having to take a dose of an H2 at bedtime.

  • yeah- that is exactly why they did it that way... so many people are on a double dose of a PPI- but it's a beeoch to get through on insurance, as you know - so this should solve that problem.

PPIs only shut down active pumps- but tons are inactive when the meds are taken- and then your body makes more all day long - hence people getting the breakthrough (not sure if they teach that kind of boring crap in pharmacy school... don't want you to think i'm trying to teach you something you might already know :)

    we'll see how it goes!

they have also priced it about 25% lower than the other branded PPIs - so cost will be better for a full cash pt - and hopefully will entice PBMs to put it on formularies very fast.
