DS has had diarrhea the last 2 days. Yesterday he went 4 times, today he has gone 3 times.
Anyone have this happen to their LO yet they are still pretty much eating normal and acting normal?
I tried to give him pedialyte, but he won't drink it. My pedi's website says to give it to them for 4 to 6 hours and then go back to formula.
Anyone think he can suddenly develp a milk intolerance? He has not had any new foods at all. He is also teething....so maybe it is from that?
I am calling the Dr. in the morning no matter what (unless he gets worse overnight)....but I was just wondering if anyone on here has experienced the same thing.
The poo is a really weird color (like a whitish green and it smells really weird too). It is getting more and more watery every time he goes.
Re: diarrhea but still acting/eating normal?
I would definately call the pedi; but...
My pedi did say some babies get diahrea when teething.
Have you tried giving the pedialyte via a medicine dropper? DS won't even take juice or water; but when he used to have constipation I'd give it to him via a medicine dropper. At least he'd get something in him.
Also, my DS does get mucousy-type poop when he's teething badly. His nose runs continuously and he swallows a lot of mucous. It comes out the other end the same way. Could that be it?
The medicine dropper is a good idea...I am sure that will work!
His nose is not runny, but at times he does sound stuffy (but it's not constant). So, yes, it could possibly be that he is swallowing it and it is coming out the other end.
He is drinking the formula...so I know he is not dehydrated...it's just that they reccomend not giving formula for 6 hours. (on their website, you can pick the symptoms and then it tells you whether you need to call them or not and what to do about it. I am still calling in the morning though).
