Any suggestions for sore throat?

DS just went to bed and it's not even 7pm yet.  He wouldn't eat dinner and didn't even want his bottle.  He keeps swallowing and wimpering.  The pedi said his throat looked really pink today and was prob. the begining of a virus.  He was eating okay this morning though so  didn't get too worried.  Now he's miserable.  Does anyone have any soothing suggestions for his throat?  Even if you have ideas on a food your DC preffered when sick.( I know that's prob. spelled wrong.)  Thank you.

    humidifier, suck out nose if running (otherwise it will drain into his throat and irritate it), and possibly warm stuff?  Warm helps my sore throat-- will he tolerate some warm bm or formula?

    Thanks, he wouldn't touch the warm bottle I made him.  I'll have to get his humidifier going I guess.  I already tortured him with the nose sucker.

    ditto pp, a humidifier would probably help a lot.
