Anyone sold stuff to a 2nd hand baby shop?

I just called a local 2nd hand shop for baby/kids stuff to ask how much they'd give me for DD's infant carseat. They said they normally sell items for 1/2 of the retail value, and when they buy items (assuming they are in excellent condition), they either give you 40% of what they'd sell it for in cash, or 50% of what they'd sell it for in store credit.  So they'd sell my Chicco Keyfit30 carseat & base for about $90, which means i'd either get $36 cash, or $45 store credit.

Does that sound like how it normally works? I was thinking that if I could just do the $45 store credit, i'd use it towards a second convertible carseat for DD but if not, i'd just try to sell her Keyfit on Craigslist.

Yes, that sounds like how they usually work. Actually, sounds like they were willing to give "more" than I've experienced. I used a local shop a couple times and that was it. They tried giving me literally $1 for brand new with tag namebrand shoes and gap clothing,etc. I had to laugh when offered $40 for a brand new arms reach co-sleeper.  I can get more profit using ebay and craigslist.
