PSA: congested ladies--use a neti pot!!

i have an awful cold this week and not breathing has been the worst part. my doc said i could use sudafed or robitussen, but both of those did squat for me.

i finally got brave and tried the neti pot...the first 3 times i thought i was drowning! but after watching a video on youtube and practicing i now think it's amazing! i'm doing it 4 times a day and i know it's the #1 thing helping.

just thought i'd suggest it to anyone suffering b/c we pg ladies can't take many meds....

I have a horrible cold..my ears burn and my throat is killing me along with all the conjestion.  A hot shower is the only thing that helps, so I will have to try this!  Thank you!

What are you talking about - no meds?  You can take a lot of stuff.  I've been on Singulair for 1/2 of this PG and I take Sudafed when the congestion gets really bad.

i said can't take *many* meds---yes, sudafed is on the approved list, but it literally did nothing for me.  so with limited options, i was looking for natural things to try.  the neti was all that has worked for me at all so far!

I just bought one of these yesterday actually!! I have a sinus infection and the dr recommended I try it but I was kinda freaked out to use it so I made DH stand beside me while I did it lol...I don't know what he was gonna do besides stand there but I didn't care....I think you are only supposed to use it up to 2 times a day but anyway I felt a little better after using it once yesterday so I'm gonna keep it up!!

Agree. The neti pot was sent straight from heaven! If you're not using it, you don't know what you're missing.

i heard 4 times a day--so that is what i did the last 2 days... hope it works for you too!

yes! I was terrified of the thing too....water up your nose?! I mean really! But it saved my life when I had a terrible sinus infection around Christmas!!

We bought one at the beginning of the winter but i'm TOO SCARED to try it..I am going to make DH try it this weekend - I've heard AMAZING things about it....I will definitely look up "how tos' on Youtube..thanks for the PSA - you are really kicking my butt into gear to try it - it's supposed to be the best thing for you (if you have sinus/allergy issues)....

I have never heard of this thing.  I sure wish I had known about it long ago.  I can't take any cold meds because they interact with medication I am on.  I can't wait to breathe again...
