I'm buying jewelry. I don't know the gender so I'm planning on looking for a yellow or green necklace of some kind. Figured that would be a nice rememberance. Anthropologie, Banana Repulic and J crew .com always have nice things. GL!
I was going to do a nice box of chocolates from a local candy maker, but then my husband lost his job, and I decided I couldn't afford it!
Instead, I baked a bunch of goodies and found a really nice box to put them in, dressed up with tissue paper and ribbon, along with a nice thank you card.
I am getting gift cards for either hair cut, mani or pedi from the local spa. They are pretty cheap (about $25 per certificate) and I will have 3. 1 for my mom, 1 for MIL and the other for the friend who is letting us use her house to hold the shower.
I am thinking about this from Things Remembered. My SIL isn't really picky about wearing jewelery and we are getting a few things for DH's Mom. Since my mom passed away, two years ago in April, my MIL has kind of taken that place so she's mom to me.

I just bought mine. I got a cute pot (actually from anthropologie) and an herb in a bag (some soil and seeds) and put it in the pot and wrapped it up with cellophane. I thought it was cute and springy.
I got my hostesses (MIL and two cousins) each a different jewelry tree or caddy from Red Envelope - they have a baby giraffe, a baby elephant, and a small jewelry catchall that are really cute and appropriate for a baby shower. $29.95 each, not sure how much you're planning on spending!
