So after reading about so many women on here who found out their health insurance covers breast pumps, I decided to call my insurance. I asked the woman if pumps and prenatal classes are covered and she laughed at me! Now, I realize that I'm extra sensitive because of all these damn hormones, but I didn't think it was a stupid question.

Re: Stupid Insurance Woman
Mine had pretty much the same reaction.
I can understand the classes, but the pump is totally a legitimate question!! It's a medical device!!
I asked her to dig deeper and truly investigate the pump, and she actually found that it can be covered under the condition that it's a medically-necessary device, meaning that the baby cannot consume breastmilk without it due to an actual medical condition (i.e. cleft palate).
Anyway, yeah, I got a similar reaction!
ok...on that note...i asked my insurance and while they didn't laugh, they did say that it was not something that they offered.
However, DS will be on hubby's insurance...should I look there? Is it something that is covered by mom's insurance or little one's?
Hope this makes sense
