I don't understand Shamrock Shakes

Is it a green milkshake?  That sounds gross to me.  In a Green Eggs and Ham kind of way, I guess. 

Someone enlighten me.

    It's not just a green milkshake, it is a minty flavored green milkshake that is OOHHH so good!

    Yep, it's green and mint-flavored. I got sick on one when I was about 7 years old and haven't had one since.Ick!

    Is minty shake. A  vanilla shake is to vanilla ice cream as a chocolate shake is to chocolate ice cream as a shamrock shake is to peppermint bon bon ice cream.  Peppermint bon bon isn't gross, is it?

    Yep, they're green.  And made partly of edible plastic (I'm serious).  I haven't had one in probably 15-20 years, but from what I remember, they are pretty tasty though.

    I went to McD's yesterday in hopes of finding these mysterious shakes everyone here talks about...they looked at me like I'm crazy!

    But then again, we have taro pie, haupia pie (coconut) and no joke, the McTeriyaki Burger here!! ?We also have "local style" McD's breakfast here with portuguese sausage, eggs and rice...people here LOVE it!!?

    ::scratches head::  Call me Ethel Rosenberg, I have also never heard of peppermint bon bon ice cream.  But if it's green, I wouldn't have tried it anyway, probably.  Not with a mouse, not in a house.  Is it just a McDonalds thing, or is it a widespread cultural phenomenon?

    PS: Awesome new pic.  I love that shirt!  Where did you get it?
