Any tips to get DC moving....

He's still not rolling....just not motivated at all....I try 'helping' him and get him on his side as well....nothing.  When he plays with a toy and it falls away from him he doesn't really reach for it--he just looks at it and moves on to the next or plays with the blankie or whatever is there.  Even at daycare they were working on rolling with him.  Nothing yet.

So I'm trying to see what I can do to help him get ready to become mobile--whether it be scooting, army crawling, whatever he decides he wants to do.  Are there any tools I can use to help him?  Like working with an exercise ball or something or little activities I can do with him to help him gain these skills?  I love life with him not getting in to trouble (yet) but I want to do whatever I am supposed to be doing to help him gain skills as well.

He's not a super fan of tummy time, but he does sleep on his belly--so even at daycare when they tried tummy time with him he falls asleep LOL.

  • I'm late to reply to your post but I wanted to offer some tips, our son was late with rolling from back to belly.  We see a PT for another issue and she offered these suggestions---exercise ball, a great tool.  My son doesn't like to be on his tummy either but tolerates the ball-also will help for pre-crawling stage.  She also showed me how to help him roll but doing it from his hip. I know you've probably tried this dozens of times but pick his favorite toy and hold it over him to "force" him to look in the direction to roll.  We did this endlessly and eventually he did it himself, now he won't stop.  Don't give up, he will.
