Need help! Question about baby stuff

With everything that has gone on and me being hospitalized he had to postpone my big shower (in Fort Worth) we had planned. Well, we cannot figure out when the best time would be. I live in Abilene and we are worried that I'm going to be sent back to Abilene without being able to have a shower. If that does happen I need to know what things I will need for the beginning. I know that don't need a whole lot but I literally have barely anything. Please help because I am entirely overwhelmed!?

Early on, babies just eat, sleep, and poop.  So, here are the basics:

    • Car seats

    • A DSNG stroller if you have to take both babies out by yourself early on.

    • Basic clothes: We just used gowns for the first couple weeks because our girls were swimming in newborn sleepers.  Keep it simple--gowns and socks and/or footed sleepers

    • Sleeping supplies: Whatever you plan to have your DCs sleep in and a few extra sheets.  Our girls actually slept the most together in a Boppy bouncer.  Add a few swaddling blankets and you're golden.
    •
    • Feeding supplies:  this depends if you're breastfeeding, formula feeding, or a combo.  The NICU sent us home with bottles and formula that lasted us for a while.  If BFing, the EZ2nurse pillow is a godsend.  If you are pumping, go for renting a hospital-grade pump.  If bottle-feeding, in addition to bottles, the only things we use are a drying rack (two decker spinning one is good) and a Brita pitcher for the water we make the formula with.

    • Pooping supplies: Diapers, wipes, diaper cream.  You don't even really need a changing table/pad.  We covered our ottoman with a towel and that's where most of our diapers are changed.
    •
    • Bathing supplies:  A couple towels and washcloths should work.  When they are little, they don't get that dirty and you can just wash them in the sink.

    • Cloth prefold diapers:  these work as burp clothes and many other things.  You can never have enough!
Good luck!  I know how overwhelming it is.
