My little breech booger

OK girls - im ready to read any advise to get this baby in position.  Latest NST's, U/S, and Doc visits have proven this kid transverse last week - and this week he is breech.  So, good news is he still is moving well, bad news is it's not in the right direction.  Please sound off on any stories or advise you have to get him turned.  At this point, im not excited about having the proceedure to turn him and our docs do not deliver breech babies vaginally.

Re: My little breech booger

  • Someone posted yesterday that in their class it was recommend to have the dad speak softly to the bump very low.  The baby supposidly would move around to hear better...worth a shot!

  • Mine has been breech for ages. I wish I had some encouragement for you but at this point, I need it too. Yesterday we scheduled the ECV unless he flips by then. If you have enough fluid (I don't) you may still have time for your baby to flip!!!!!!!!!
  • here's one i heard...

lay on your back on the floor, prop up your pelvis with some pillows, and put your feet up on the wall.  like an L but so your back is on the floor.

do this nightly for 10 min... then the baby "falls" out of your pelvis and can readjust...

and.  it's still early for you so i wouldn't worry too much!

  • My first son was head down until 38 weeks when he flipped around.  I just decided to do a c-section.  If you have enough fluid you can try ECV, I have friends who did that and were successful.  Also, there is still time for him to flip on his own.  Sorry, I don't really have any other suggestions.
  • Just from internet surfing the subject (My daughter was Frank Breech and had to have c-section with her) it is said that putting something cold at the top of your tummy and playing soft music down low could encourage the baby to move toward the sound and away from the colder upper tummy. I dont know if that would work or not, but sounds reasonable. I wanted to attempt VBAC with this one but my doc will not green light a vaginal birth due to previous c-section and a previous uterine rupture last February. Hope things go smooth for you and that you are able to deliver the way you want. Good luck!

at our class they also recommended lunges, sit on edge of chair bending slightly forward with knees down.

  • I have heard that sitting on a yoga/birthing ball leaning forward with legs spread the same width as your shoulders helps. Also being on your hands and knees for 10-15mins twice a day. Some one yesterday also recomended a chiropractor.
  • spinningbabies.com has different exercises ect. to help baby to get into the ideal position. I would be like you too - try everything! GL
