Can't believe my neighbors!

I just stopped to talk to my neighbors last night (a younger couple, not married that were willed the house) and they are currently planning their wedding.  I proceeded to ask them how their wedding plans were going, offered her help if she needed it.  Then we are talking about babies and pregnancy and such.  She stated she wanted kids so bad but her FI is completely against, and I quote, "breeding".  I think she almost burst into tears.  But then she proceeds to explain that he is getting her a puppy to compensate.  WTH!?!?!?!?!?  Why would you get married if your values and goals and dreams were that far off????  This is why some people should just not get married.

    I totally agree! One of my coworkers at my last job got married...her husband wants kids and she doesn't. Shouldn't they have figured that whole kid thing out BEFORE the wedding?!?!?!

    I don't get it.  That would have been a dealbreaker for me.  How young are we talking?  Maybe he will change.  But I personally wouldn't take that chance because having children is really important to me.

    He's 19 and she's 20...not old enough to get married IMO but to each his own.

     See that is EXACTLY what I was thinking.  They are young and I didn't want kids at that age so it could change.  But also, they are young and maybe that step isn't the best idea.  Obviously they need to get on the same page in that area before wedding day.  This makes me sad for her...
