It is really the only name DH and I agree on. We are working from his list which is very "interesting." They only other name on his list I can deal with is Scarlett. I posted it on here a while ago and got great feedback but I am leaning towards Summer.
We have a tough ethnic last name and I want something simple that people can pronounce/spell but is also beautiful and feminine- KWIM?
TIA for honest opinions.
Re: WDYT of the name "Summer?"
It makes me think of Summer Love. She went to my high school and she was the daughter of Mike Love from the Beach boys. I thought it was the coolest name EVER in high school and I still like it but it kind of sounds like an immature name to me now.
I love Scarlett!

Thanks ladies
I really appreciate it. I have no idea how we thought of the name. I don't even know a Summer. Annabelle was almost a Summer because DH was having a hard time accepting Annabelle.
Keep the comments coming- good or bad
Uh-oh. You really want honest?
Summer is a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader or a hostess at Applebees.
Summer isn't a Supreme Court Justice or a neurosurgeon. It's just not a name I would take seriously, but it's totally an opinion and I'm clearly outnumbered!
Please don't yell at me but you said good and bad!
Ha ha Sulla. I did have a friend tell me she thought cheerleader. I don't mind hearing all opinions. Well one of my husbands absolute favs are Alabama and Piper- how do you like those?
And Annabelle is already taken the career path of surgeon- she is brilliant and has amazing hands
) We do need a doctor in the family since we skipped a generation with my husband and his siblings.
Take care!
Christmas 2011
I think it's lovely, but as per pp, maybe hard to take seriously as an adult, but heck, it'll be up to her to demand to be taken seriously! At least it's not as flighty as "Flower"!
I also really like Piper.
I really like it.
I LOVE Piper though. It was on my list but DH nixed it.
Grandma Summer? I don't know.
I like Piper of all the ones you've mentioned. And I love Annabelle!
Alabama? Oh txgal, you need to show your dh this:

Ha ha Ness. You know, he got the name Alabama from the 80's movie True romance- Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette . I finally watched the movie and realized that the character Alabama is actually a ho- I could have killed DH.
In college he was a bit of a hippie- totally a clean cut fed govt worker now
I do thank everyones input and believe she can still be professional with the name Summer- and she will be successful.
