My cousin (different cousin than earlier) had her big u/s yesterday and is having a girl.  I'm a little selfish because I wanted to be the only one having a girl right now.  I know that's insane and I should be excited for her especially since DD will have another girl family member so close in age.  Our family has just has had many boys, but no girls in the last 14 years.

Dont worry, you're not the only one who feels that way... I always said that I wanted to have the only girl, if I was going to have one with my ex, for similar reasons... but that relationship didnt work out.  So we didnt have any kids.

I thought my kid days were over since I couldnt conceive, but lo and behold here I am three years after divorce and getting ready for baby no. 2 (12 years later), which happens to be a girl.

No flame from me, since I was in your shoes once.

I totally get it... I was in the same situation. Now that the kids are older though, they are SO cute together... little partners in crime

Yup, you should. I loved growing up with lots of cousins close in age.

My sister in law who already has four kids, I have one, got pregnant on purpose with #5 because she did not want me to have the last baby in the family. I just found out she is also having a girl. I'm selfish and a little pissed.
