Pulling up already???

I picked Andrew up from daycare today and his teachers told me that he was trying to pull up on the cribs and other toys today. They said he almost made, he got his behind up off the ground, but didn't make it all the way up. The said yesterday he was in the middle of the room and went from his hands and knees to a position that was like he wanted to either stand up or do a summersault with his behind up in the air, on his toes, hand on the floor, head down. There was nothing around him to help him up so he wasn't able to get any farther up than that.

He has been working on crawling for almost 6 weeks now and mastered crawling backward about 3 weeks ago, but forward movement has not worked at all for him. He now goes from hands and knees to sitting to move himself around the room. His teachers and the admin at the daycare seem to feel he could take his first step by 8-9 months. Is that really possible????? I know babies don't have to crawl before they walk but I was not even considering someone would mention walking this early.

Re: Pulling up already???

  • I had a friend whose baby was pulling up at 7 months and walking fairly well by 8 months. Kinda bizarre to think it's possible but some babies are just ready I guess!
