question about travelling with playtex drop ins

It's my bday and we are going out to dinner and bringing DC--I have some pumped milk in the fridge I want to bring but it's my first time so bear with me :)  Should I add the BM to the bottle liner and bring it already assembled?  Do yours leak when they are assembled?  Can I thaw the refrigerated BM at room temp in the diaper bag while at the restaurant or do I need to keep it cold until use?  If so, is there a special way to warm drop ins (ie can I use a bottle warmer, just running water, etc)

Thanks!

Re: question about travelling with playtex drop ins

  • I can't answer all of the questions since I don't use pumped milk in mine, but I fill mine with the water for formula all the time and assemble them and they never leak.  I have the original nursers.

  • If you pump it fresh it can be at room temp for about 8 hours. If it is from the fridge it needs to be chilled or at room temp for 1 hour.

    Assemble and go!

  • I usually pump right before I leave and keep the milk in a storage bag or a Medela bottle and prep the Drop-Ins when I need it.  If I take the milk from the fridge, I just let it warm to room temp in the diaper bag.  If he wants it before it's warm, I warm it under warm water and then pour it in the drop ins.  I don't like to keep it in the Drop In ahead of time because the lids always unscrew on mine for some reason.
  • I just put it in the lined bottles and go.  To warm it, I just ask the waiter/waitress for a 1/2 mug of warm water to put the bottle in.  I do keep it chilled until use.  I either use our portable bottle bag or I stick it in a glad bag with ice.
I give up trying to add my kids' photos. Just know that they are adorable.
