I feel just terrible. So I was at the day care this morning and I use the double stroller to get them in and out by myself. The thing is a pain to set up so I asked if there was a place I could store it during the day.
They said there wasn't and they were VERY apologetic. The honestly felt badly about it. In trying to make them feel better I said, "Don't be sorry! I am the one that had stupid twins". WTF is wrong with me?
I said it jokingly of course just trying to make them laugh and put them at ease. Unfortunately all I did was cauase a giant look of horror to spread across their face.
I tried to quickly clean it up by telling them how I wouldn't have done it any different, how much I love my babies and how it is just hard but the damage is done. It only took 3 days at a new day care for me to look like an ass. Nice going mommy.
What I should have said was "I am the one who OVULATED twice". UGH. I just want to crawl in a hole.
Re: I made the DUMBEST comment today....
OMG, LMAO! That totally sounds like something I would say!
When I was trying to get pregnant (which was very hard for us) we were at a restaurant with my parents and I said something like "I just want a freaking baby!" but it came out kinda loud and stern sounding. The older couple next to us looked at me in horror! Oops!
awww. that sucks. don't worry they will see what a great mommy you are
and let not forget about my lovely comment today at home depot saying to my children i was putting them on craigslist if the whining did not stop....more an a few ppl heard me
Hey Kyla! Don't be so hard on yourself. It was a simple slip. Clearly anyone can see how much you love your little ones. FWIW I am constantly sticking my foot in my mouth. Just chalk it up to being human and let them see what a wonderful mother you are.
LOL - that's something I would do too. Don't beat yourself up!
I told someone once that I thought Angelina Jolie was right - babies kind of are like little lumps for the first few months...and boy did I get stares!
Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
