Going to a baby shower this weekend

And can you believe it - after checking out her registry I don't know what I should get the new mom. ?You'd think I'd have a pretty good idea about what baby items would be handy by now! ?Maybe I just need more coffee.

My usual baby shower gift is made up of a favorite childrens book (usually You are my I love You or On the Night that you were born), a small gift from the registry (or if there isn't one that I like a $20 gc to where she is registered) and a gift for the mom (gc for a massage, gc for a nice place to eat near there home that does take out, etc.)

This happens to me too! ?I have 3 showers coming up and when I look at their registries I can't decide because if anything I actually use is on there, then I want to get that and I can't pick which would be best.

You could put together a cool gift basket for her!  You know, receiving blankets, other miscellaneous stuff that you found useful after you got home from the hospital. 

my SIL just did this for us and it was a really cool gift!

A homemade diaper cake. It had size 2 diapers rubber band together and layered in the shape of a cake.

I usually give baby oxyclean, mesh teethers (the ones you can put fruit in), butt paste and something off the reg. or books.
