Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Who's got a late teether?

DD is going on 10 months with no sign of teeth. The nurse seemed surprised at the last appt. At what point do you start worrying about no teeth?

I'm a little paranoid because my college roommate had a condition where some of her teeth never came in and she had years of painful implant surgery while we were in college. Late teething isn't an indicator of anything, is it?

Re: Who's got a late teether?

  • DD cut her first tooth at 9 months and now at 11 only has 2 teeth. Her little best friend is the same age and still has no teeth! i wouldn't worry yet!

  • 9+ months and no teeth.  Not even any sign of them. I'm not worried; he'll have teeth eventually.

  • DD is over 10 momths and has no teeth.  I can see them, and feel them they just haven't broken skin.  Dr. was not concerned and told me a story about a pediatric dentist (that or oral surgeon?) who's kid didn't teeth until 15 months or so.  It's normal, but incredibly, incredibly frustrating!

  • DD will be 9 mos tomorrow and only has one. Although, I think I see another coming in, so that would explain the random fussiness :)

  • DS just got 2 teeth not too long ago (right at 9mos).  He has 2 more coming in but looks like those might take awhile.

  • DD is toothless.  I'm not worried - DH and I were both late teethers.  He cut his first tooth on his 1st b-day and I was 11 months.
  • DD is just now getting her first tooth.  I havent been worried.  I was late to get teeth too.  I assume she will be the same
