I was just reading your post about Aetna insurance and U/S... and I'm in the same boat. I was informed at my second Dr's appointment that Aetna only pays for one U/S throughout the pregnancy that is not deemed medically necessary. I had one for spotting around 6 weeks (obviously medically necessary) and then had a routine U/S around 10 weeks. I'm guessing that was my one and only "non-medically necessary" and I will have to pay out of pocket for my 20 week U/S. I noticed that you emailed Aetna- I was just curious if you got a response....? If you do get a response, would you mind PMing me or paging me on 1st Tri and letting me know what you were told? Thanks and good luck!!!

I will definitely let you know what I hear! I'm glad I was browsing through and caught this message! I don't know if you read all the responses I got to my question, but one posted a link that I think is really helpful.
https://www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/100_199/0199.html
It's Aetna's position on ultrasounds. I had 2 during first tri (both for bleeding), which seem to have been covered. But the info on the link makes it sound like they do cover it as long as the doctor enters the correct billing codes. I'm going to bring this info to my next appointment to see what my doctor has to say. GL!
