I am sad to say that I am going to have to start supplementing for an upcoming trip in 2 weeks. Despite pumping every day in the few minutes I have when one of the kids doesn't need me....I can barely get enough to leave him for work once a week. I am going on a 4 day trip in about 2.5 weeks and there is just no way I'll be able to pump enough. I'm going to do the best I can, but I'll have to leave DH's parents with formula to supplement. What would you all suggest:
1. Giving him all breastmilk for 1/2-3/4 of the feedings and maybe 2 bottles of formula
or
2. Having every feeding be a mix of 1/2 breastmilk 1/2 formula
Also - I think I should introduce the formula before I leave to make sure he will take it. Any recs on good formula for a milk allergy and fussy baby?
TIA!
Re: Supplementing help...how to start?
I've been mixing half & half and this is working well for DS. Not sure which formula will be best - we use Similac Sensitive - it's lactose free but milk based & DS does much better with this than the regular Similac - I know they make a soy based formula for milk sensitivities also - maybe try that.
Good luck!
