Who's on a diet?

I'm thinking we need to start a weekly check in or something. I need a support group. I want to be in the same shape I was before I got pregnant by summer time.

I find it really hard to get to the gym now that Nadia is here and the weather is so unpredictable I'm not walking on a regular basis either. (I am so full of excuses!)

Let's not even talk about what I've been eating.

Anyone want to do like a Monday check in on here?

Re: Who's on a diet?

  • I'd love to join. I need some kind of kick in the rear end! LOL

  • I'm in :)

I recently gained back some of the weight I lost plus there's some more I want to lose.  So I'm not "dieting" formally i am watching myself and trying to make healthier choices.  My goal is to lose 7 pounds.  Of course working out would be good too!!

  • Well, the scale is going the opposite way for me.  It's difficult on me mentally because I lost 100 pounds and now I'm gaining eventhough it's for a good cause!

But I've heard that P90X is a great program to help you lose weight.  You pop in the DVD and you can work out from the comfort of your own home. The before and after pictures are amazing.

  • I'm in....I so want to be back in my old clothes and this week is the first time I am finally watching what I eat since getting pregnant.  I need motivation to add exercising into my schedule next!

First of all, congrats on the weightloss!

DH and BIL are doing P90X... they are are week 3.  DH loves it.  He hasn't seen any weightloss yet, but he def feels loss of inches and increased flexibility.  The first week was killer for him, but slowly he's enjoying it.  BIL on the other hand is another story.  LOL  He hasn't exercised in literally years, so it has been more difficult for him to get into it.

It is a 90 day exercise regimine, where you exercise 6 days, and rest on the 7th (however they encourage you do their stretch video).

FutureHernandez- that is awesome that you lost so much weight!!! Don't be scared about the scale going up. I I was obsessed with the scale too. But you know what? It's all sooo worth it once the baby is here! Your body is doing what it needs to do to make a baby!

Coco- thanks for the info- I am going to look into this. Something I can do from home would be great!

  • I definitely need to be on one...but I'm breastfeeding so I don't think I can. Although b/c of that, I have allowed myself to eat everything. I lost a whole bunch right after Joshua was born but I'm no where near my pre pregnancy weight and I just keep eating like CRAZY!! And I haven't been losing like I thought I would while nursing. We definitely need to support each other during this venture. the only thing my dh does is give in to my cravings for cookie dough and buys it for me! lol.
  • I have been doing Weight Watchers since January 5th! I've lost 7.3 pounds so far! I only have like 2 more til my PP weight, but I think I need to lose about 8 more on top of that to really get skinny! i have been weighing on Wednesdays cause Mondays are a hard day, but I would love to join the diet group!

  • Me! Me!  I'm not dieting per se but doing points on Weight Watchers.  I am also seeing a fitness trainer twice a week for the month of March.  I still need to lose the weight I gained from my first child.  I need to lose 35lbs to be at my pre-kids weight...yikes!! So...I'm down for Monday "check ins".

  • I'm in!  I'm on South Beach.  I'm embarrassed to admit I'm probably the heaviest person here - I would give my left arm to be as "fat" as some of you but I do realize we all need to be comfortable in our own skin.  I have about 70 pounds to lose.  Sigh.
  • Don't feel bad Dawn! We are all here to support each other no matter how much we want to lose.

I personally have about 10lb to my pre-baby weight... and would REALLY love to lose about 45lb after that which would take me to my high school graduation weight, pretty sad to admit I have gained that much since graduation.

My body is so different now though so I am pretty sure I will never hit that number again, so I'd like to make it to my wedding weight which would take me back another 35lb from my pre-baby weight, which I am pretty sure is doable if I work really hard.

Right now I am not on a set diet.... just not eating out, trying to make healthy food choices and watching my portions. I haven't been losing weight really but I am starting to fit into some more clothing which is nice. I guess it is just a slow process.

My stomach is still really puffy which is aggravating because I think I still look pregnant even though I have lost 40lb!!! All my pre-baby pants fit me in the hips and butt now... but nothing buttons. I don't know if this is b/c of my c-section or just because of having been pregnant in general but it is annoying. I just really want to lose some weight, even if it is a little bit!!

  • im in! WE can do it =]
  • I am! I've been dieting (sort of) since September (I think).  I took a break from December until a week ago though.  I'm down almost 20 pounds and have 10-15 left to go.  I'm shooting to lose it and keep it off so that I can feel fabulous on my next birthday (which is a biggie).  Unfortunately, for some reason, my last weigh in, after a pretty good week, ended up being +.5 instead of negative anything.  Oh well, we push on!

  • Ugh, I've gained 8 lbs since moving back to NY.  Partly because of the abundance of Italian food I've been eating, but mostly because its winter and I have not been able to go walking everyday.  I just want to cry.  It took me a year to lose all of my baby weight, and I actually made it down to 2lbs lighter than I was before Nicholas and now I can't fit into a single pair of my jeans.  I have been wearing sweatpants every single day for months.  I am very motivated...as soon as the cold weather breaks here, I am going back to walking two miles a day.

I think we are our own toughest critics. Before I met you, I thought you were really photogenic, but now that I've met you in person, I think you are absolutely stunning! Great skin, great hair! I'd kill for that! ;-)

  • Count me in! I SO need some accountability, I start a diet for 2 days, then quit for two weeks over and over again. I have a lot to lose to be back to pre-2-babies weight!

  • Question is...who needs to be on a diet? MMMEEE!!  I have been such a slacker and haven't quite figured out why I can do anything, but lose weight?  This may help.
