2nd Trimester

Any L&D nurses or docs here?

I have a simple question for you from a 2nd time mom.  I know they say labor will be shorter with each child, but what about the pushing itself?  Apparently I was a "good pusher" and had Max out after only a half hour of pushing.  Can I look forward to an even shorter time with this baby?

  • Hey I am a  L&D nurse. Yes typically your labour & your pushing are shorter for your second & subsequnet children. However every pregnancy and labour is different. The are many factors that could change it (baby's position, how you go into labour, when you start pushing, etc) but if you were are good position that first time, then it should be even better this time! It sounds liek you did great for your first so I am sure it will be great again!
