Things to do in Portland

Hi Portland Nesties.

We're going to visit family in Portland in May and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for things to do. Between the two familes we'll have 3 kids (4 years old, 22 month old and 18 months old). Is there a children's museum or an awesome play ground area? We've been to the Portland zoo before and we're thinking of going ot the beach, there's a beach 1.5 hours away??? Any suggestions would be great!

Re: Things to do in Portland

  • OMSI and Portland Children's Museum are great. Willamette Jet Boat Excursion is fun, but might not be appropriate for infant/toddlers. The Oregon Coast is fun: Seaside, Cannon Beach...but it may be chilly in May.

  • One of the most popular parks is in Washington Park near the rose gardens.

OMSI has an indoor play park that's amazingly fun for toddlers through preschoolers.  There's a water area, a sand area, and a ton of other stations that could entertain kids for hours.  It's all in one large enclosed room, so you don't have to worry about the kids getting too far away from you.
