2nd Trimester

Etsy ?s

So I've seen etsy.com mentioned in a bunch of posts and I finally checked it out, searching for wall decals for the nursery. I found a TON I love for $50 or less!

I've never used it before, and I guess I was wondering if there are any "tricks of the trade" I would need to know. It seems like you just buy what you want, right? No bidding, no membership, or anything.

Anything I should know before picking a vendor/product?

Re: Etsy ?s

  • I love etsy! There are no tricks, I just research everything throughly and ask questions.

  • You do have to join to buy items because communication with sellers and buyers happens through the site, not email. I've never had problems buying from anyone or selling to anyone. Everyone on it seems pretty reasonable and attentive. There is no bidding, the prices are as shown- but sometimes if you contact a seller before you buy you can ask about custom things too.

  • I make sure to read the vendor reviews.  And maybe start a good conversation so that I feel comfortable with the seller and product I'm getting.  I've had nothing but good experiences thus far.  I would suggest using PayPal to pay...just a suggestion!

  • No tricks, it's kind of like an on-line mall for crafty/homemade stuff. I have ordered tons of stuff from them and have never had any issues or disappointment. Have fun and welcome to a new addiction. I look at etsy daily :)
  • But note that "joining" requires you to create a user name and password, there's no fee. It's free to use as a buyer. I think sellers have to pay to have their shop posted.
  • awesome, thanks ladies! i can't wait to decide what to order. we haven't even picked paint colors yet, so it'll be a bit, which just gives me more time to shop!!
