If you are choosing between Benjamin Button & Slumdog Millionaire

GO SEE SLUMDOG. It is an amazing movie.

We sat through the nearly 3 hour Benjamin Button last night and my husband and I were sooo anxious to leave. We rarely ever get a date night and we felt so bad leaving our daughter for that movie! It's not bad, actually it has a great message, but it is soooo slow and drawn out. Also, sexy Brad Pitt doesn't appear till the end of the movie and I found myself rooting against his love interest Cate Blanchett, because she played such a brat (IMO) in the movie. My DH also snickered because the whole "telling a story while you are dieing in your hospital bed" is kind of played out.

  • I agree...I could have done without Benjamin Button but Slumdog is AMAZING!
  • Haven't seen BB but I did see SM and it was awesome!!!  Such a great movie.  Besides I don't think I can stay awake for such a long movie.

Haha, I was pretty uncomfortable. 2 hours is my max now. My husband compared it to Titanic and the English Patient, though it was only 2 hours 45 minutes. Wasnt Titanic 4 hours or something crazy like that? They should put a time limit on those things!

  • I haven't seen Slumdog and don't know if I will. We loved Benjamin Button. For us the three hours flew by.

Oh go see Slumdog. It is really good. I think I was expecting too much from Button and it let me down. It wasn't as deep as I was hoping and I was not a fan of the love story. It seemed a bit contrived.

  • Slumdog was great!!!  It reminded me of the movie Crash, which was also amazing.

  • I don't know, although I didn't see Benjamin Button Slumdog was too much for me.  I don't know if it's b/c I'm pg or what, but I was crying for at least a few parts of the movie and I'm still disturbed by a couple scenes.

Ditto this. For us SM just doesn't look interesting at all. I'm sure we'll rent it someday, but it hardly looked worth a theater ticket to me or DH. We both absolutely loved BB though.?
