2nd Trimester

Shower Hostess Gifts...

My mom and sister are throwing my shower.... I'm not sure what to get them??? They really aren't jewelry wearers so that's kind of out... not coffee drinkers or readers so no Starbucks or borders GC... I was reading a couple pages back and someone suggested Edible Arrangements... what do you think??? Is that personal enough??? Any other ideas???So I posted this on 3rd tri too but you ladies can help too LOL...

  • One of my friends gave her MIL and SILs silver frames and said she would fill them with a photo of the baby after she arrived. I thought that was a nice idea and may do the same for my family shower.

  • Edible arrangements are VERY nice.  I love them!

Yankee candle had a sale on their plug in fragrance things last week and I  bought one for everyone who is making food for the shower my mom is throwing me.  (I am not sure who is helping with the shower MIL is throwing so I didn't buy anything for them yet).  I am going to make mom and MIL a blanket for baby to keep at thier houses.

That's ok... you have to get your feet wet sometime right :)

  • Someone also mentioned a while ago that for the new grandmas (your mom and mil) to do a diaper bag (like a cute purse looking one) with all the necessities that they'll need in there too. Just a thought.

No it's not a stupid question. I was wondering the same thing haha. I haven't really looked into it yet, so I couldn't tell you right now. I suppose anything you believe that she'll need in there. Probably not as much as you would normally carry, but similar items I suppose.

This is a good idea for your mom...your sister, will she be watching the baby much?  Otherwise you can just make sure you always bring the necessities in your diaper bag. She might prefer something else.  Make sure the diaper bags are their style though...something they would want to carry out and about.

As for what to fill in it, anything they would possibly need.  Diapers (for in case you forget some one day), wipes, diaper creme, pacifier, blankets, extra clothes, medicine (my mom didn't always have children's medicine in the house, now she keeps stocked just in case my niece/nephew are over), medical kit, bottles, lullaby CD maybe if you plan on putting your baby down to music...
