Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

since there were a lot of responses to the weaning post...

maybe you can help me.

DD is 14.5 mos.  She will no longer take a sippy of EBM and we've not started cow's milk b/c I have hundreds of oz in the freezer.

She's not getting enough milk when she nurses...she goes for a minute then asks for more and switches sides...over and over.

We nurse am, lunch, after work, and bed.  I will cut the lunch session over my spring break.  Do I just need to cut more sessions?  Wean completely?  Help!  TIA

Re: since there were a lot of responses to the weaning post...

  • i would try to cut sessions...and i would save some of your frozen milk for the transition. im trying to get ds to take cow milk but he doesnt like it and i dont have any pumped to mix. most say that if you mix the your milk and cow milk that it will be easier for them to transition.
  • Nurse for whatever period you feel comfortable.  If you want to cut a session, do so.  Nursing is so personal, do what is right for you and DD - not for anyone else!

I would maybe put a little cow's milk in DD's cup of BM - try going out and have DH get her to take it.  GL!
