when do you stop burping?

I had some neighbors over tonight who have babies (4 months and 8 months) and they both said that they don't burp them anymore. Am I missing something? I still burp DD. Maybe I don't need to anymore???

FWIW she is a VERY spitty baby.?

I don't burp Aidan anymore, he just burps himself when he needs to when he sits up after a bottle. And he hardly ever spits up anymore. We probably stopped burping him a few months ago.

Austin just STARTED burping! He never burped before, but now he will let one out after almost every nursing. He does a lot of burping and farting on his own too.

I think we quit burping DD around 3 months maybe? I can't remember. I'm a bad mommy who hasn't written anything down. :(

We stopped probably around 5 or 6 months.  He was a very spitty baby too but one day he just kind of stopped spitting up so much.  We still burp him sometimes, but not nearly as much as in the beginning.  He burps himself mostly.

DD had bad reflux so I still find myself burping her even though she is perfectly capable of it!  I think when they can sit up on their own is when they can generally burp for themselves.
