Did anyone here have Baby A or B smaller in U/S?

We had our 2nd u/s yesterday and they found twins who are measuring about 5 1/2 wks.

Our little baby B is a little smaller than A.  Part of me isn't worried b/c last week they barely saw A and B was completely unseen.  So that little guy is growing... but still DH is like I dunno, don't get your hopes up.  Some of you have shared success stories on SAIF and SIF boards but if you have a story that you would like to share I would love to hear it!

We had an u/s at just about six weeks and they couldn't even tell if there was anything in the second sac.

Then at 8 weeks they did another u/s and baby A measured 6/10 of a mm larger than baby B, but both heartbeats were good and the dr. said that they both measured well and that all was normal.

I don't know if that helps, but I think it's probably early enough where you shouldn't worry. Good luck and congrats!

first u/s B measured smaller then A by a few days (3-4).  Last u/s they measured exactly the same which dr. said was pretty neat (seemed like it didn't happen as often as them measuring differently).

at our 6w u/s we saw 2 sacs, but only one had a visible "grain of rice" looking baby inside ;)  we saw a HB in that sac, but not in the other.  the second sac was also smaller.  at 7w, we saw both fetal poles & yolk sacs, measuring closer i think.  then at 8w they both looked like little gummy bears :)  i think having one measure a little smaller is TOTALLY normal. :)

At our first appt Baby A measured 6w4d with a strong heartbeat and Baby B looked like an empty sac with no heartbeat. The next week we went back and to everyone's surprise there were two heartbeats! Baby B has measured exactly 3-4 days behind and every appt since. Good luck- I know how hard it is not knowing!!

At 5 wks the second one was even a little black dot on the screen.  When we went back he was there - and both had hb's.  Through the first few u/s's one baby was always a day or two behind and the dr never seemed concerned.  He even said at one point, just like people grow at different rates, so do babies.  congrats on the twins :)

My first US was at 4w- stupid, but that was how they dated the pregnancy. There was nothing to see- an empty sac. I ended up getting really sick with a kidney infection and landed in the ER where they did another US and found two sacs. TWO!! ACK! They were the same size then, but my baby B always ended up being a little behind. I even got two due datesStick out tongue

I always say don't get your hopes up about ev.er.y.th.ing! but.... they look pretty good to me :) Good Luck!

We had our first u/s at exactly 8wks and saw only one sack with yoke.  Then one week later at a viability u/s with a peri specialist they found the other one and it was about half the size.  That sac always remained small but strong.  That baby was my IUGR baby Evan.  You can read our story in my blog.

Is that an internal u/s or an external one??? Mine have always been way more zoomed in which is why I ask (mine have been internal).

My baby A measures a day a head, and baby B is a day behind, so 2 days apart.

Francisca - congrats!!  I've haven't been on a lot in the last few weeks and I missed your BFP post!!!

We had our 1st u/s at 6 weeks and saw 2 sacs but B was much smaller and looked empty.  Same thing at 7 weeks, so we prepared for a singleton.  A few days later I had some spotting and went in for a quick check to make sure Baby A was still okay - boom, there was Baby B, getting bigger and with a beautiful strong heartbeat!  B measured slightly smaller for a few months, but suddenly one month we went in and he had grown bigger than A.  He turned out to be my bigger baby and still is.  Good luck!
