oh, I've seen it. Just wait til you see how they wash the wrapping paper scissors under the tap in the sink and tie the cord with a shoe lace... REAL sanitary....
This poor girl just asked if a baby could survive for 20 minutes without oxygen...
Yeah she is, um, not the brightest. I think she may have gone a little too long without oxygen at some point.
She also suspected a placenta previa and still did her freebirth. If she had in fact had a placenta previa, she and her baby would have died within minutes.

I saw that the other day and I think my jaw was on the floor the entire time. Until I saw that show, I always said that I fully respected whatever birth each family felt was best for them... but my mind has definitely changed. The way these women go about delivering their babies just seems so reckless and irresponsible. Especially that young girl - she seemed so clueless the whole time. Those particular women are damn lucky they didn't cause any harm to their babies - that the show depicted, anyhow.?
these women really get me angry. how would they feel if their babies died and how it may have been prevented if someone with a medical background had been on hand. i think natural birth is a great thing if you can do it, but at least have a midwife around who knows how to resuscitate a baby!
Re: I'm watching Freebirthing on Discover Health for the first time.
No, they're just idiots. When you put your life and your baby's life at risk, it's not just "different strokes for different folks."
Well see, I was trying to be not so inflammatory. But yeah....I agree.
haha
