Is there any way to send private messages other than posting to a specific person?

If you click on the persons avatar above their sn you can do a pm through their profile. And you can check yours through a link at the bottom of the board listing.

Go find the person you want to send a PM to and click contact...three options come up...one of them is to send a private message to that person...

Right, that's the problem.  I click on the avatar and I don't see any option to send any private messages, not there or when I view their profile.

Also in the bottom right hand corner of a post you see the word "contact" click on that and you can send a PM!

Oh...much easier.  Duh.  It was right in front of my face, of course.

Uh, no, I'm not.  That's why we left for Palm Springs on Wednesday.    I had to wait until just now to go for a walk because, get this, it's too hot outside!  I love it.  Sadly, we'll be back on Sunday.  So not looking forward to the rain.

Thanks, I'd turn this into a PM but I still have to figure out how to retrieve messages.  Yes, I'm very smart.  Unfortunately, we're down here visiting DH's parents but for some reason, they're being extra nice to me.  It's a little weird.  Borders on suspicious.  Yeah, 8/17 needs to get here already.  I'm a little tired of this pregnancy already.

On the left hand side...there is that list of all the community thingies...go down to the bottom of the column and you will see "my boards" and then click on check private messages!
