Hair Dye Warning...

I've been dying my hair for a long time and regularly use the same color/brand all that.  Uh...some goofy stuff is going on with my hair this time.  The roots didn't take the color AT ALL!  I asked at my last doctor's appt. and she said it could be because of hormones.

UGH.  Now I have to have it fixed professionally because it looks so retarded.

Re: Hair Dye Warning...

  • Yup. I was told to never try to dye my hair while pregnant because the results most likely wouldn't be what I expected.

I was wondering if folks would wonder that.  I'm waiting for the SNARKS to show up.

    get over yourself.

  • That's why one should never do it on their own and leave it up to the professionals!!!  It costs a lot more to "fix" it then to have it done right in the first place!

i'm surprised using retarded as an adjective isn't offensive to more people. it's very insensitive and rude

the word "retarded" isnt one of my favorites. Buuuuut I asked what your problem is because of the "grow up" and telling her what not to reference to. I just thought; gee a simple; that word offends me; I would appreciate you using a differnt word. would be a little nicer. No biggie. Just a thought.

It's a WORD... get over it or keep yourself sheltered & off the internet & forums if you can't handle people's use of words or lang. All you should care about is whether YOU use it or not- you're the only one you can control.

  • Oh man, good luck.  Frankly, a lot of people say a lot of things on this board that offends me ("retarded" is not one of them) but I just keep it to myself.

I had a co-worker once to whom I was venting and I said something along the lines of "that's so retarded."  She was like, "my brother is retarded" which I totally forgot but even she still laughed about it.  It's also like when I call my gay best friend a "homo" and then I call my husband a "homo" in the same sentence.  People need to realize that our generation is increasingly using these colloquialisms whether they find them offensive or not.  It's not that we mean them literally, it's just that they've become part of our lingo.  Maybe it's sad, maybe it's not.  Women were called bitches for the longest time and it was extremely offensive.  Now it's a term of empowerment for a lot of women.  Once people stop being so sensitive, we can actually move forward.

I read an article about how just a few generations back, people would have died before they said "Fvck", or "A$$", or refered to a homosexual in any way, but it was normal to use derrogatory racist terms in normal conversation.  The article went on to say that it's pretty much flip-flopped in that our generation uses swear words daily but would get angry at the use of racist terms.  It's interesting.
