Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Another Summer Clothes question...

We live in the South...tis HOT here - but... there is also A/C every where we go.

What did your LO wear in the summer time?

If you had a girl - how did dresses work?  do they get in the way if she's crawling?

Thanks so much for your help

Re: Another Summer Clothes question...

  • She wore sunsuits that snap between the crotch. Carters and Kohls have tons of them.

Ditto!  She had some dresses but they frustrated her b/c they would get caught under her knees when she tried to crawl.

  • I dont have a girl so I cannot answer the dress question on expeience but my opinion would be yes and you may want pants to protect knees from carpet burn.

As for dressing for Hot weather and AC and cold and the heater for that matter. I always dress DS in layers so they can easily come on or off to adjust for the temp.

  • He wore "rompers" you know, basically a onesie with shorts. I always had a receiving blanket if the AC was up. Not sure how that will work now that he's dancing in high chairs and trying to run around...

I figure if I'm OK in shorts and a t-shirt, he should be too.

  • DD was 4-7 months old during last summer (not mobile AT ALL) and wore the bubble outfits (looks like a dress in the front, but in the back is just a onesie) like the PP mentioned.  We had a lot from Carter'-s (I could get them at Costco for $5-$7 bucks - not too bad).   She had  a few skirts and capri pants, but when at home, she would mostly wear just a onesie.  My DD loves to be free!

**Side note - I think I remember you from the OR board back in the day!  I mostly lurked, but your SN sounds familiar.

I don't remember your name but I was on the OR knot boards a lot when I was planning my wedding.

    Congrats on your little one!

  • Sunsuits and bubbles. She wears more dresses, now and if they are short it was never a big deal, but long dresses always got inthe way with her crawling.

As for the AC. I always had a light weight white sweater that I threw in, in case I needed it. Gymboree has some cute ones right now
