Goodmorning ladies! I just wanted to thank you all for the warm words from yesterday. Even though we all get snarky, when it comes down to a fellow bumpie needing words of encouragement, we all drop what we're doing and come to the rescue. That kicksass. ![]()
After having a night to myself, I have decided to take this and turn it into possibly the best thing that could happen to me. Truth is... I'm scared shitless, and will use this fear to start eating right and make better decisions. What I didn't tell you all yesterday is that I went into my Dr's appointment with a little list of things to talk about. One of them was sugar consumption. In the beginning of Feb I got sick and downed a lot of orange juice to get over the sickness. I believe this sparked a serious sugar craving I've had for the past month. I haven't folded to every craving, but I have been eating more sugar than the past months. And it makes perfect sense since Web and I were measuring right on schedule at my last visit (end of January) and now I'm measuring a month ahead.
I did ask her why, if I'm measuring so large, I don't look it on the outside. Everyone always tells me I look tiny for how far along I'm supposed to be. She told me that the reason was because I wasn't really overweight and I'm tall (5' 10").
To make a long story short, I will know much more at 28 weeks. That means I have a whole month to get back to my regular eating habits, and kick this sugar binge I'm on. I'm lucky to have that month as a cushion to get back to normal. I've already started though. I went to Kroger's last night and bought lots of fruit and veggies (which is what I used to replace my sugar cravings with).
But thank you ladies.... your support means so much to me cause let's face it, DH has no freakin' clue and can't possibly understand the emotional and mental issues that involve pregnancy and the unknown of it all. ![]()
Love you girls,

Re: Update to yesterday's Dr.'s appointment...
Glad you are taking steps to correct things - that's all you can do and it's good that you are aware of what needs to be done and more importantly willing to do it.
p.s. if you didn't finish off that bag of Rolos and need to get them out of sight, feel free to mail them to me. hehe
Exactly. Good for you Bearkat! Way to keep a positive attitude
I think pg or not, everyone falls into a bad habit rut sometimes - it's good that you can recognize it and take the steps to get back on track! I'm trying to do a lot of the same right now with finding more veggies that I can add to my diet (I eat a lot of fruit but I know I need a balance of both), since I've been slacking with getting them in lately. I guess I just get bored with certain foods and then have a hard time finding healthy alternatives to mix things up every once in a while.
Glad you and Web are doing well!
