Re: Skin is a mess

  • My doc said proactive is fine.  It didn't work for me so I ended up seeing a dermatologist.

  • Burt's Bees Blemish Stick...it smells kinda yucky but it's amazing!
  • I use a lot of Neutrogena stuff...the foaming acne wash and acne scrub. I scrub like every other day.

  • Burt's Bees pore refining mask. It's a clay powder you mix with water. When I use it weekly my skin is great. When I forget, it's a mess.

  • I got a facial as a gift, and it really helped my skin. They don't use anything harsh or medicated, since I am pregnant, but they were able to really clean my pore out with helped so much. It is ok'd by my derm.

  • I use AcneFree Severe which is the same as Proactiv but a lot cheaper and you can find it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc.

  • I've been using Proactiv and it works fine for me.
  • I started using an olay sensitive skin cleanser, no fragrance, no acne medication, and it has cleared up my skin nicely! Pregnancy has made my skin super sensitive, and the less I mess with it, the better it looks.
  • I've been using the Belli Skincare Acne Clearing Facial Wash. It is safe to use during pregnancy, and there are no harsh chemicals. It's been working okay for me. It's a little pricey, but it's worth the peace of mind.

  • Anythink with benzoyl peroxide is fine (proactiv, clearasil, etc.) - I believe BP is a class B drug, which means it won't harm the fetus. ?I would stay away from?salicylic acid, since this is essentially a liquid version of asprin, which we're supposed to avoid during pregnancy of course.

  • OK, I have NO idea why the formatting is off for my post - here it is again, easier to read:

  • I've been using the Belli Acne Wash.  Smells a little funky but it's been working well for me.
  • I have had the worst acne of my life with this pregnancy!!! i also use the belli skin care wash, it helped but really the only thing that has made the biggest difference is time...the further along i get the better, but also dont pick, i did and now i have scars on top of the acne...really looks pretty! ha ha!
