He's practicing his trombone (he has a test on a song tomorrow). He's getting frustrated. I told him that he's doing rather well and that it's sounding better each time, and he'll have it by the end of the night.
Uh, I soooooo do not feel that way. First of all, I'm pissed that he hasn't been practicing all this time (but it's partly my fault for not staying on him about doing it). Secondly, he sounds BAD! It's getting a little teeny tiny bit better, but not by much.
I hate lying, and normally don't do so....but I just felt that he needed a little bit of praise. Yeesh...the things we do as parents to spare our children's feelings.
Re: I just lied to my son!
That is the good kind of lie. You could hardly tell him he still "sucks"...lol.
Cute story.
Absolutely. If you had not done that you'd be a shytty mother imho. And obviously you're the opposite!
I rarely practised my musical instrument in primary school, until my mum got better hours when I was about 12 and started sitting with me and guiding me (she is very good at the instrument). After that, and her praise and help, I got kind of obsessive about practising through high school! LOL?
