His theory is basically that you need to talk to toddlers on their level which we all do when they're happy, but when they're angry we try to talk to them like adults and reason with them. So the idea is to get to their level and make them know that you understand what they want - even if they can't have it. It makes sense, I'm just curious if it works and Alexis is still a bit too young to test it out.
