NBR: Employee Vent (kind of long)

Ok, I'd blame the hormones, but this bothered me pre-pg too.  Ok, so I was hired here in May 2007.  One of my student employees was hired after me, but my boss hired her for me since I was so new and not yet comfortable with the job enough to know what qualifications to look for most to fill out my support team of part-time student employees. 

But then he gave ALL supervisory powers to me, and I have been her supervisor ever since her first day.  But she still goes to HIM all the time.  She goes to him to try to go over my head and see if I'm wrong (which I'm not, and he supports my decisions and my instructions to her).  She has her apartment application sent to HIM to verify employment -- I am her supervisor.  I sign her time card.  I set her schedule.  I teach her the job. 

It just bugs me.  And she flirts with the boss too.  It's innocent because he's married and doesn't realize it, and she's in a relationship, but as another female in the office, it makes me uncomfortable to listen to her giggles at his stories. 

Had to vent; thanks for listening.

I used to work with a girl like that! The thing is that she actually admitted that if sleeping with "supervisors" would get her hight up she didn't have a problem doing it. I seriously wanted to grab her by the hair and slap her around a few times! Hey maybe this is what your co-worker needs!

That would bother me pregnant or not. Have you talked to your boss about it?

I was the director of a day camp one summer and I had a counselor who would call my supervisor when she had issues.  Basically I found out about it from my supervisor and I had to confront my employee.  She was extremely bent out of shape when I laid down the law but it had to be done.  Is there any way you can do this without creating a problem??
